BEST DAY EVER
Choosing Joy Is a Power Move
Alright folks, time to slam the brakes, hang a hard LEFT, and say peace out to the SAD SACK, also known as the HUMAN POUND PUPPY.
It is time to yank the steering wheel RIGHT and crash headfirst into the sun-drenched, confetti-filled opposite of all that sulking.
Yeah, I know—whiplash, right? But seriously, ENOUGH ALREADY with the sad violins.
Let me tell you about a friend of mine (and don’t we all need someone like this in our lives?). Doesn’t matter when, where, or if a tornado just blew her hat away — it is always, without fail, the BEST. DAY. EVER.
There were six of us on a cruise (think fancy sea hobos), and we found ourselves in a local “cultural center” (read: bar).
We decided to enjoy the beauty of the day and sit outside, and after several rounds my friend took one look around and joyfully declared it: THE BEST DAY EVER.
A few weeks later, this same radiant, loosely bound friend gave me a framed photo of that very moment.
This masterpiece now sits proudly in my living room. A constant, glittering shrine to optimism… and occasionally poor (but fun) decisions.
Here’s the kicker.
That quirky little frame? It is a powerful reminder. A bold, joyful rebellion against the soul-sucking forces of adulthood and existential angst.
Because sometimes, choosing joy is the most defiant thing we can do.
Even if life is currently handing you lemons, limes, or a bag of mystery produce, you can still raise a glass and shout, “Margaritas anyone?”
Even when the clouds roll in and it feels like life is personally picking on you, that “BEST DAY EVER” mindset is a glittery lighthouse in the fog.
It screams, I see you, chaos, but I choose wonder. I choose the absurd. I choose joy!
So yeah, the sun might be hiding and the air might smell like wet pavement, but you are still here. Breathing. Blinking. Being.
And that’s something. Actually, it’s everything.
So, if you’re out there scrolling, doom-diving into a black hole of direness and your face starts freezing into a permanent frown:
Pause. Scroll back. Reread this. And remember:
It is the BEST DAY EVER, dammit!
